Kraftwerk1 is an innovative building and housing cooperative in Zurich with three settlements and a fourth under construction. Sustainability, solidarity, and self-organization shape our daily work. We don’t just build apartments – we create communal living spaces. Additionally, we experiment with new approaches – both in construction and in our organization: We are currently transitioning to a sociocratically organized structure.

Communication Specialist with Organizational Talent (50–60%)
Your tasks
- You communicatively accompany internal, participatory projects.
- You write and produce the annual report – in consultation with internal committees and in collaboration with photographer, graphic designer, and editor.
- You organize the annual general meeting as well as other events confidently.
- You maintain and further develop the Kraftwerk1 communication channels (website, newsletter, settlement app beUnity) and ensure the quality of the contributions.
- The division of tasks is between you and your job partner, depending on interests and competencies.
Your profile
- Degree in communication, e.g., Bachelor in Communication and Media, or several years of experience in a similar role.
- Language is your craft: You write and edit confidently and precisely.
- You bring a few years of professional experience, but applications from younger professionals are also welcome.
Your style
- You work independently, proactively, and gladly take responsibility.
- You are very well organized and structured.
- You are open, curious, and learning comes easily to you.
- You are flexible in terms of time: Your working hours can also be in the evenings and weekends. They are project-related and therefore vary throughout the year: There is more to do in spring, less in summer. Annual working hours apply.
Additional desired skills
- You have a flair for visuals and enjoy new media and formats (photo/video/audio).
- You are interested in architecture, construction, and sustainable development.
- Non-profit engagement appeals to you – you feel comfortable in an environment with a social and cooperative mission.
- You have experience with participatory involvement processes.
