Job Description
We are seeking a committed and empathetic assistant physician for our outpatient psychiatry team in Biel, Switzerland. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care in a supportive and professional environment.
- You will conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental disorders in an outpatient setting.
- You will develop and implement individual, needs-based treatment plans.
- You will prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor effects and side effects, and adjust medication accordingly.
- You will conduct psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based methods.
- You will work interprofessionally with psychologists, nursing staff, social services, and general practitioners to ensure holistic care.
- You will document fully and systematically in the electronic medical record.
- You will participate in case conferences and engage in quality improvement projects.
- You will keep your expertise in research and treatment methods continuously up to date.
- You will consistently comply with Swiss health regulations and ethical standards.
Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified and committed professional to strengthen our psychiatric team. The ideal candidate has:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution
- Current specialist training in psychiatry
- Valid Swiss medical licence (MEBEKO registration)
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatments
- Strong ability for detailed and individual patient care
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Fluent command of the German language; knowledge of French is an advantage
- Experience in psychiatric care (inpatient experience is an advantage)
- Understanding of the Swiss healthcare system and relevant legislation
