KESB Authority Member (80 - 90 %)
As an independent court-like specialised authority, the Child and Adult Protection Authority Uri (KESB) implements civil law child and adult protection for the entire canton of Uri and makes the necessary first-instance decisions. The aim is to help the affected individuals with tailored, individual measures while respecting their fundamental rights and dignity. To complement our authority, we are looking for a KESB authority member from 1 July 2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks
- Independent management of the assigned KESB procedures
- Conducting own investigations and issuing investigation and expert report mandates
- Personal hearing of the affected persons and other involved persons and institutions
- Issuing procedural orders and ordering precautionary measures
- Where legally provided, issuing decisions in sole responsibility
- Submitting proposals to the full authority for the assigned procedures and participating in all collegial decisions of the KESB
- Monitoring and controlling existing child and adult protection measures (report acceptance)
- Member of the authority management
- Participation in the further development of KESB legal practice
- Cooperation with specialist offices, municipalities and institutions
- Participation in KESB's case-independent public relations work
Expectations
- University degree or other recognised tertiary qualification in social work, medicine, law, psychology or related fields
- Established personality with life experience and several years of professional experience
- Knowledge of the legal basis in the field of child and adult protection law and additional training or experience in this area
- Knowledge of the principles of administrative procedural law and understanding of processes in public administrations and authorities
- High empathy for people in difficult life situations and competence in dealing with them
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary and networked collaboration as well as teamwork skills
- Flexibility, high resilience, negotiation skills and decisiveness
- Good communication skills and confident appearance
- A well-measured sense of humour to be able to cope with the demanding daily work in this field with ease
- Category B driving licence
