ROLE DESCRIPTION
• We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support ongoing compliance initiatives.
• As a key member of the Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will help ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions accurately.
• Reporting to the Senior Manager Accounting, this is a 12-month fixed-term position starting in October 2026 to cover maternity leave. There may be an opportunity to extend the contract or transition into a permanent role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• You will oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate and timeline month-end and year end close processes. (E.G. via journal entry preparation and review, Monthly accrual processes on complex areas, complex account reconciliation preparation and analysis, etc.)
• You will prepare reports, memos and supporting schedules periodically by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information in accordance with the monthly close schedule
• You will assist with analyzing financial results monthly, and report on variances to prior periods and to budget/forecast
• You will be responsible for maintaining and verifying the accuracy of the general ledger
• You will research accounting issues and propose appropriate accounting treatment, including writing of internal accounting memos
• You will assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls, and implementing process improvements
• You will liaise with both Internal and External audit teams, including preparing supporting documentation and SOX compliant walkthrough documentation
• You will assist with quarterly reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies in our ERP system
• You will collaborate cross-functionally with other Viking business stakeholders, helping business decision making by preparing cost and profitability analyses on a requested basis
• You will aid with the User Acceptance Testing and future developments of the ERP and reporting systems, with a focus on automation
• You will supervise, mentor and develop more junior members of the team, and you will provide guidance and assistance where required
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong understanding of accounting theory (IFRS a plus).
• 4+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA or ACCA qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience working in an audit company or SOX compliance environment would be a bonus
• Excellent English skills, both verbally and in written
• Highly detail-oriented and organized in work
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excel proficiency is a must
EDUCATION
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management, and an Accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a publicly listed company is an advantage.
• Experience with D365 or OneStream would be advantageous.
