Deputy Group Leader 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed institution for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and approximately 300 employees, it contributes according to legal mandate to the protection of the public and at the same time creates the conditions for the resocialisation of the incarcerated persons.
For our entry group (EG) we are looking for a committed personality as Deputy Group Leader to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- You care for, advise and accompany incarcerated persons in everyday life and are an important contact person for their concerns
- You ensure a smooth daily routine as well as compliance with and enforcement of safety and service regulations. You recognise critical situations early and respond confidently even in demanding situations
- Administrative tasks such as writing reports and documenting events are also part of your daily work
- In the function as Deputy Group Leader, you take on the areas of responsibility assigned to you and represent the group leader in their absence
- If necessary, you also contribute to the company fire brigade
Your profile
- You have completed training as a correctional officer and have several years of professional experience in correctional services
- Willingness to further your leadership training is expected
- You keep an overview even in demanding situations and are characterised by mental and physical resilience
- Changing working hours including on-call and weekend duties can be reconciled with your other commitments
- You have very good oral and written German skills and ideally bring knowledge of other languages
- You are proficient in using the MS Office suite
- Your reputation is impeccable (no entries in the criminal and debt registers)
