Receptionist - Emergency Admissions Clerk
To complete its team, the Reception and Admissions Unit is looking for a receptionist - admissions clerk for the emergency department as well as for the Children’s Hospital, with a workload between 80% and 100% for our various emergency sites. The starting date is scheduled for 1 January 2027 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Patient Administrative Management Service is responsible for welcoming and admitting patients upon their arrival at the hospital, as well as billing for their services. It is responsible for medical coding and all contractual relations with health insurance companies.
Mission
- You manage the reception and admission of patients
- You ensure administrative management and data entry.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification
- You are particularly inclined towards patient relations (understanding, empathy, service spirit), while being very precise and efficient in handling administrative data
- You have several years of experience in a reception office or at a front desk (preferably in a medical or hotel environment)
- You are comfortable with the PC/Windows environment and fast at data entry
- You are able to welcome, inform and conduct a basic conversation in a second language useful to the service (preferably German).
Within the unit, this position at the emergency and Children’s Hospital sites may involve irregular hours (series of mornings, evenings and nights, one weekend every two weeks and five nights every six weeks, on-call duties.)
