Shipping Specialist
Do you have a penchant for the administrative handling of export transactions and want to take on responsibility in a dynamic environment? Then you are exactly right in our freight forwarding team in the Manufacturing and Logistics division. In this versatile role in a dynamic environment, you independently manage international export and cross-trade transports for machinery and equipment. You coordinate deliveries from various global production sites and advise Sales and Project Management on Incoterms, transport concepts as well as customs and documentation issues.
This is where you will excel
- You coordinate international deliveries from various production sites, organise multimodal transports and specifically manage international transport processes
- You prepare and check export, customs and letter of credit-compliant shipping and commercial documents
- You obtain transport quotations and evaluate them in terms of cost, transit time, routing, equipment and potential risks
- You commission freight forwarders, monitor shipping dates and coordinate the entire transport handling
- You ensure compliance with all relevant customs, export control, origin and preference regulations and communicate proactively with internal interfaces, international sites and external partners
These are the required skills
- Commercial basic training and several years of experience in administrative export handling; further training in foreign trade or the freight forwarding industry is an advantage
- Sound knowledge of Incoterms, export and customs documentation as well as international transports, especially in sea freight
- Confident handling of transport documents, commercial invoices, packing lists as well as origin and preference certificates; experience with letters of credit, project logistics or machinery and equipment export is an advantage
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style as well as strong communication skills and enjoyment in collaborating with internal and external partners
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken, as well as good MS Office skills; SAP experience is an advantage
