The "Ados Centre AISGE" Youth Center in Genolier and surrounding areas offers activities and free access to young people from 7P-11S attending the school in Genolier and/or living in the municipalities of AISGE on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:15 AM to 6:30 PM, as well as on Wednesdays from 12 PM to 5:30 PM. The services include free access, creative and artistic workshops, outings on Wednesday afternoons, outdoor and sports activities at the Gossan gym at noon and at the Cordex gym in the afternoons. To access the Youth Center, simply fill out the online membership form on the AISGE website and pay the annual fee of 100 CHF for a school year (bulletin sent by post). The forms are made available at the end of each school year. It should be noted that there is no limit to registrations and that the fee remains the same, regardless of the date of membership. Young people who have paid this fee can attend the Center after meals and in the afternoon. The Center does not operate like a UAPE: membership allows free access to the Center, without control of absences. Every school year, in August/September, an evening is organized to allow parents to visit the Center and ask their questions. Additionally, a visit can be planned for parents and future 7P students in June if necessary. For any needs, you can contact the Director of the Center, Mélissa Pasché, by phone at: 079 476 82 95 or by email: mélissa.pasché@aisgé.ch Role of educators within the Center As educators, we are here to support young people in their daily lives, well beyond the framework. We are there to listen to them when they go through difficult moments, whether they need to talk about school, family, friends, or their emotional life. Through exchange, mediation, or more specific support, our role is to support, guide, and help them better understand what they are experiencing, in order to build stable reference points with them. Parents can also contact us at any time: we are available to exchange and answer their questions. Free access
Free access operates on the principle of voluntary membership. It is a space of accompanied freedom where young people can meet, work, rest, or have fun in a secure environment. The young person is therefore free to come or not, to act according to their desires and motivations while respecting others, the place, their environment, and the material. This practice requires a contract of trust between the young person, the parents, and the educational team. This agreement is essential. In free access, the child can act freely:
- Decide for themselves what they want to do, how to do it, with what material, and with whom.
- Learn to live in a community in a different framework than that defined by school.
- Leave and return: a child is never obliged to stay at the Youth Center; they are there because they want to be. Indeed, if they wish, they have the possibility to return home or call their parents to come and pick them up (according to the agreement made with them). The Center provides a phone so that young people can call their parents if needed, and vice versa.
- The Center is only responsible for members when they are in the Center's premises and at the locations/outings where activities take place. Outside of the Center's opening hours and outside the premises, parents are responsible for their children.
Trust
The Center operates on a fundamental principle of trust between young people and the educational team. This trust is built over time, through sincere and responsible attitudes. Lying and stealing have no place: they hinder dialogue, impede support, and harm the relationship of trust. It is always preferable to acknowledge one's mistakes rather than hide them. The team remains available to listen, understand, and support, but for this to work, we must be able to trust the young people we welcome. Trust is earned and protected, together. Respect
Everyone commits to showing respect for themselves and for others as well as the educational team by being mindful of their language and behavior. Similarly, everyone respects the places and the material made available. Respect represents a fundamental value to guarantee coexistence and the well-being of the group. In case of disrespect towards the material, the educational team reserves the right to request reimbursement or repair of it. Solidarity and tolerance During free access and activities at the Center, everyone ensures to adopt an open-minded and tolerant attitude towards others, their different ages, genders, origins, ways of thinking, musical and clothing preferences, habits, religions, sexualities, etc. The Center encourages adopting a spirit of mutual aid and support in all its activities and commits to promoting dialogue and exchange, thus allowing everyone to express themselves. Well-being and pleasure
The Center is a friendly place where everyone can have fun, relax, and express their creativity in a pleasant atmosphere. The educational team is committed to offering healthy and varied activities contributing to well-being and social cohesion, in order to encourage everyone's participation in the life of the Center. Rules of conduct
- Smoking and alcohol as well as illegal substances are prohibited in the premises and in the school perimeter during the Center's opening hours. To ensure everyone's safety, we do not welcome anyone who is under the influence of psychotropic substances. However, the educational team remains open and available for any discussion or exchange on this subject. - Specific rules for different activities must also be respected. Being present in the premises and participating in the activities of the Center means that the charter has been read and that its rules are accepted. In case of non-compliance with these rules, the educational team reserves the right to temporarily or permanently exclude access to the Center (the annual fee of 100 CHF will not be refunded, even in case of exclusion) and will take appropriate measures while prioritizing dialogue and listening.
