Head of Department for Special Support 100%
The Department of Education is committed, together with partners in schools and communities, to providing a high-quality primary education in the Canton of Zurich. We see ourselves as a service and competence center for schools, school administrations, and school boards. Starting in June 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for a leadership personality to head our significant Department for Special Support.
Your area of responsibility
In this key position, you will be a member of the management team and lead a department with around 20 employees. As a flexible, independent, and committed personality, you maintain an overview of all matters concerning the department. Your affinity for special education and intercultural topics, your solid knowledge of primary education, particularly in the field of special education, as well as your political interest enable you to recognize connections and help you strategically and operationally further develop the department's business. Active dialogue and networking with various stakeholders are among your strengths.
Your profile
You master this demanding task with a high degree of independence. You appreciate taking on responsibility, are decisive, and are characterized by quick comprehension and high resilience. You are an integrating, supportive, and demanding personality who leads with credibility and a role model function towards the future. You possess analytical and strategic thinking skills, keep the big picture in mind, and initiate targeted development processes. Your affinity for legal issues, your engaging and competent demeanor, as well as a touch of humor and calmness in dealing with challenges complete your profile. The basis of your qualifications is a university degree in special education or an equivalent qualification and several years of leadership experience, ideally in a similar environment.
