Medical-technical Assistant at the Institute of Pathology
To support the activities of its diagnostic laboratories, the Institute of Pathology of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking a medical-technical assistant for a position between 80% and 100% from 1 November 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Institute of Pathology provides diagnostic clinical activity that guides patient management and contributes to therapeutic decisions. It is accredited according to ISO 15189 standard.
Mission
- You participate in the activities of the diagnostic laboratories of the Institute of Pathology: scraping blocks after paraffin embedding, sorting and storing blocks and blank slides, cleaning equipment and laboratories
- You support digital pathology by scanning slides as requested and maintaining slide scanners while participating in the management of digitised files
- You collaborate in archive activities
- You contribute to logistics and transport activities.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a laboratory technician in biology or an equivalent qualification
- You have initial professional experience in a laboratory
- You are comfortable with common IT tools and have the adaptability to use new software
- You are proactive, versatile, conscientious and dynamic
- You have good communication and adaptability skills and enjoy teamwork
- You demonstrate good organisational, planning and responsibility skills.
