About the job
Your new role
As a control centre employee in the role of traffic controller, you take on a central function to ensure a stable and reliable operation of the St.Gallen Transport Services. You monitor the operational driving service, coordinate the necessary measures in the event of incidents and disruptions, and ensure prompt and competent customer information. You organise and supervise entries and exits to the depot, coordinate measures in case of accidents and disruptions as well as short-term personnel deployments and replacement bus services. As an important hub, you maintain close contact with the driving staff, internal specialist departments, and external partners. With your overview and quick comprehension, you make a significant contribution to a safe, punctual, and customer-oriented public transport system in St.Gallen. Additionally, control centre employees are also deployed in driving operations. You undertake spontaneous and planned trips in regular service, special trips, and replacement bus trips. These deployments are based on the duty roster or, by mutual agreement, can also be arranged at short notice.
This position is for you if

- you possess good oral and written communication skills.
- you have experience in public transport, preferably in a control centre or a similar operational environment.
- you have solid experience in driving buses, hold a valid driving licence category D (including CZV), and are willing to complete the trolleybus test promptly.
- you enjoy coordinating operational processes and supporting different stakeholder groups.
- you think in a connected way and act clearly prioritised, structured, and friendly even under time pressure.
- you are willing to work in shifts as well as on weekends and public holidays.
- you have good IT user skills and quickly master new systems.
- you like to take responsibility and want to make an important contribution to smooth operations.
