Case Manager Criminal and Measures Enforcement 90 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 women and men from diverse professions. JuWe is primarily responsible for the enforcement of court sentences and the execution of pre-trial detention. For JuWe employees, preventing recidivism and the successful social reintegration of offenders is of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD), as one of seven main departments of JuWe, act as enforcement authorities and provide probation assistance. Through the enforcement of criminal sanctions and individualized support of offenders, they contribute to crime prevention and thus to public safety. Important work goals are a crime-free lifestyle and social integration.
The Enforcement Area 3 specializes in the enforcement of prison sentences, outpatient and inpatient therapeutic measures, and custodial measures for offenders with a very high risk potential for committing serious violent and sexual offenses. Strengthen our team from August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
What to expect
- You manage your cases from A to Z: planning, control, and coordination of the enforcement of prison sentences and measures (placement in enforcement institutions, review of enforcement releases, design of transition management and release)
- You lead interdisciplinary planning meetings in enforcement institutions and coordinate cooperation with partners and authorities (e.g., correctional facilities, psychiatric clinics, forensic therapy, probation services, public prosecutor's office, social services, migration office)
- You make and issue enforcement-relevant decisions (e.g., review of conditional releases) and are responsible for statements in appeal procedures and commissioning psychiatric assessments
- Within the framework of judicial follow-up procedures, you submit applications and participate in hearings
What you bring
- Completed studies in law
- Professional experience in criminal and measures enforcement or criminal prosecution and knowledge of administrative law are advantageous
- Interest in criminal law, forensics, and crime prevention
- Enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration, networking with various partners, and direct contact with offenders
- High social competence, assertiveness, and resilience
- Fluent German in spoken and written form as well as good IT user skills
- Willingness to undertake task-specific further training
- Impeccable reputation
