Our client, a major player in the energy sector, operates a strategic refining site located in Switzerland, essential to the country’s energy supply.

As part of the operational maintenance and continuous modernisation of its control-command systems, we are looking for an Industrial IT Systems Engineer – Honeywell Expert.

Your mission will be to ensure the reliability, performance, availability, and cybersecurity of the site’s DCS infrastructure.

Job Description

• Ensure the administration, maintenance, and evolution of the Honeywell Experion PKS distributed control system (DCS) (and/or legacy TDC 3000 depending on installed base)
• Supervise C300 controllers, operator stations, data servers, and associated industrial network infrastructure
• Manage migrations, updates, and system patches (OS, firmware, Honeywell applications) ensuring production continuity
• Manage instrumented safety systems (SIS) — Honeywell Safety Manager / FSC — in line with SIL requirements
• Implement and maintain OT cybersecurity measures compliant with ISA/IEC 62443, in coordination with the group’s IT/OT teams
• Provide level 2/3 technical support in case of control system incidents, with possible on-call duty
• Participate in engineering projects (extensions, revamping, scheduled shutdowns): writing specifications, FAT/SAT testing, commissioning
• Document system architecture, operating procedures, and recovery plans (backup/restore, disaster recovery)
• Interface with process, instrumentation, automation teams and Honeywell support (maintenance contracts, TAC)
• Contribute to training operators and technicians on system developments

Qualifications

Engineer (Master’s degree) in automation, industrial IT, electrical engineering or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience in critical industrial environments (refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, energy)
• Proven and significant expertise in the Honeywell ecosystem (Experion PKS mandatory; TDC 3000, Uniformance, Safety Manager/FSC, Control Builder appreciated)
• Experience in SEVESO / ATEX / classified site environments highly valued

Technical Skills

• Honeywell DCS architecture (C300 controllers, FTE network, redundant servers)
• Instrumented safety systems and SIS logic
• Industrial networks (OT), protocols (Modbus, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus/HART)
• Industrial cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443, network segmentation, OT patch management)
• Virtualisation of control environments (VMware) appreciated
• Knowledge of process safety standards and Swiss/European regulatory requirements
