From 01.09.2027, we are looking for you for the 3-year training as a shunter in freight transport (railway worker in operational service locomotive driver transport) (m/f/d) at DB Cargo AG in Oberhausen. The vocational school is in Duisburg.
This is what awaits you in your training:
- You mainly shunt freight wagons
- As a shunter, you also assemble trains by uncoupling and coupling individual wagons
- You check the functionality of freight trains and the securing of loads
- You learn your vehicle inside out, as well as the rules of safe railway operation
- Occasionally, you drive your locomotive to nearby customers in your region to collect goods
- You start and finish your working day as a shunter at your regional marshalling yard
Your profile:
- You have (soon) successfully completed school and your school leaving certificate is recognised in Germany
- Your German language skills correspond to at least B2 level
- You really enjoy working outdoors and are enthusiastic about technology
- Responsibility is definitely your thing and you also like making decisions
- You are certainly reliable
- Working shifts and also at weekends and on public holidays is fine for you
