About the job
Would you like to work in emergency medicine while benefiting from an exceptionally broad clinical spectrum? In this position, you will work within a cross-site team at three clinics located just minutes apart and closely collaborating. As a SGNOR-recognised training centre Category A, the environment also offers ideal conditions for your professional development in emergency medicine.
You will become part of a cross-site emergency team within an established private hospital network in the Bern region. The three clinics are geographically close to each other and complement each other medically. While one site is particularly known for orthopaedic procedures and musculoskeletal disorders, another specialises in cardiology, visceral surgery, thoracic surgery, and intensive care medicine. The third site is established as an important point of contact for primary care and sports medicine. This means you will encounter an extraordinary range of clinical issues and patient groups in your daily work.
Organisationally, emergency medicine is located within the Department of General Internal Medicine. The leadership team consists of a chief physician, a deputy chief physician, and two site-responsible co-leaders. They are supported by around 15 senior physicians and approximately 45 assistant physicians.
The culture is described by many employees as extremely familial. Hierarchies are deliberately kept flat, interactions are straightforward, and there is a pronounced informal culture. The close collaboration with numerous attending physicians from various specialties working at the different sites is particularly valued. This results in short decision-making paths, quick consultations, and professional exchanges that enrich clinical daily life. We are looking for individuals who enjoy taking responsibility, are flexible in moving between different sites, and take pleasure in practical and performance-oriented emergency medicine.
