Head Nurse of the Care Unit at the Coordinated Oncology Centre
The Oncology Department is seeking a Head Nurse of the Care Unit (HNCU) for its Coordinated Oncology Centre, starting 1 November 2026 or by agreement.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five university hospitals in Switzerland. In close collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne as well as with EPFL, it holds a leading position in medical care, research, and education.
The Coordinated Outpatient Oncology Centre has a capacity including 12 beds, 20 armchairs, and 6 stations dedicated to blood sampling. It can accommodate more than 90 patients per day.
The team, composed of around 60 healthcare professionals, provides nursing care in consultation, administration of oncological treatments, participation in diagnostic procedures, as well as attentive support and personalised care for patients and their relatives. The HNCU position is held by two professionals in co-responsibility.
Mission
- You ensure the efficient and safe care of patients
- You efficiently lead the nursing team of your unit
- You participate in the management of the service in collaboration with its hierarchy and interdisciplinary managers
- You organise and supervise training, teaching, and research activities related to nursing
- You act as a liaison between your unit and the service management.
Profile
- You hold a Diploma in Nursing from a University of Applied Sciences or an equivalent qualification
- Proximity management training (the possibility to undertake this training is offered to candidates afterwards)
- You have experience in management or team leadership
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in oncology
- You have proficiency in English (level B2)
- You are proficient with office and IT tools used within the institution
- This position is aimed at a dynamic, autonomous personality with interpersonal skills, a sense of responsibility, organisational abilities, and team leadership skills.
