About the job
The Conference of Cantonal Directors of Agriculture (CDCA) promotes collaboration between the cantons as well as between the cantons and the Confederation, mainly in the fields of agricultural policy, support for productive peasant farming, and the preservation of arable land. The CDCA participates in shaping opinions and aims to develop common positions. For concerns likely to gather a majority, it ensures, through its bodies, effective representation of interests at the federal level and with other inter-cantonal conferences. These tasks are coordinated and carried out by the CDCA Secretariat General, located at the Maison des cantons, Speichergasse 6, in Bern.

To support this exciting and demanding activity, we are looking, from 1 July 2027 or by agreement, for a person for the position of Secretary General.
Your main tasks
- Strategic and operational implementation of the Conference's objectives
- Management of the Secretariat General
- Collaboration with the Conference's bodies and partners from various political fields,
- Extensive contacts with political leaders, cantonal and federal bodies, administrations, associations and other institutions,
- Preparation of basic documents, memoranda and position papers.
Your profile
- University degree (master's) or other higher education
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in public administration / agricultural service
- Strong interest in agricultural policy issues and topics related to agriculture, with the willingness to commit to them
- Reliable, loyal and proactive personality
- Excellent writing skills and team spirit
- Good interpersonal skills, well-developed social skills, mastery of modern management and leadership methods, and good knowledge of business management
- Excellent command of one national language and very good knowledge of a second
