Job Description
As part of the development of our activities in French-speaking Switzerland, we wish to strengthen our presence in Geneva.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with solid experience in the Swiss construction and real estate market. You will be responsible for managing complex projects in the office, retail and industrial sectors, from design phases through to delivery.
As the client’s primary contact, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects and ensure compliance with objectives regarding costs, deadlines, quality and risks.
Your main responsibilities
- Ensure overall project management, particularly in terms of costs, scheduling, budget, quality and risks.
- Represent the client’s interests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage general contractors, turnkey contractors, suppliers, agents and directly engaged consultants.
- Develop, analyse and monitor project schedules and key milestones.
- Identify critical activities, anticipate potential deviations and implement necessary corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Organise and lead meetings with clients, project teams, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective and structured communication between the project team and the client through regular meetings, progress reports and written communications.
- Identify and analyse factors likely to influence construction costs.
- Monitor project finances and produce clear, reliable and regular reports.
- Advise and support technical or engineering decisions impacting costs, budget or schedule.
- Assess financial and operational consequences of design changes occurring during the construction phase.
- Review payment requests, work progress statements and supporting documents submitted by contractors.
- Identify, document and track any events that may give rise to claims, requests for extensions of time or disputes.
- Contribute to the management of changes, variations and contractual claims.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and objectives defined with the client.
- Maintain rigorous follow-up of decisions, actions and responsibilities of each stakeholder.
- Provide the client with a clear view of project progress, risks, necessary trade-offs and next steps.
Qualifications
- You have at least 10 years’ experience in managing construction or real estate projects.
- You have at least 5 years’ professional experience in Switzerland, including recent experience in the Swiss market.
- You are currently based in Lausanne or its region.
- You possess an excellent understanding of the Swiss construction market, its practices, stakeholders and contractual environment.
- You have proven experience delivering office, retail and/or industrial building projects.
- Experience gained within a General Contractor in Switzerland is a significant advantage.
- You master cost, budget, schedule, risk and stakeholder management.
- You are comfortable managing complex and multidisciplinary projects.
- You have strong skills in negotiation, communication and problem-solving.
- You know how to build trust with clients, consultants, contractors and external partners.
- You are recognised for your autonomy, rigour, anticipation skills and sense of responsibility.
- You are results-oriented and able to make decisions in demanding environments.

- Fluent French: essential
- Fluent English: essential
- German: an asset
