To support our Finance team, we are looking for our offices in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland for a:
Purpose:
To ensure compliance, control, and operational excellence for Leclanché’s Swiss operations, while driving the Accounting function to the next level in readiness for business growth and scaling. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong ERP acumen and a proven track record in coaching and developing teams in high-change environments.
Key objectives:
- Supervise and continuously improve the end-to-end Period Closing processes (monthly/quarterly/annual).
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Accounting Team (3–5 direct reports) to build skills, resilience, and engagement in a context of high turnover.
- Oversee all daily accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, General Ledger, VAT, and intercompany transactions.
- Strengthen accounting systems, processes, and controls to support current operations and prepare for future business scaling.
- Partner closely with the VP Finance Group Controller, broader Finance Team (Controlling, FP&A, Treasury), and other departments: Sales, Procurement, Operations, and IT.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping for the Swiss entities, coordinating with foreign group subsidiaries on accounting matters.
- Autonomously manage the monthly/quarterly/yearly closings under Swiss GAAP FER (knowledge of IFRS is a plus), ensuring deadlines are met.
- Lead the preparation of statutory annual reports, including notes and disclosures, and act as the main contact for external auditors.
- Organize and lead regular balance sheet reviews with management to ensure data integrity.
- Drive process improvement and automation in accounting operations, with a focus on simplification, standardization, and system optimization.
- Act as the business owner for ERP improvements (Microsoft Business Central), ensuring the system meets operational and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Controlling to ensure accurate and efficient period closings.
- Lead the Accounting Team by setting clear goals, providing coaching and feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Oversee accounting activities for integrated operations with subsidiaries in Germany, USA, UK, France, and Norway.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the VP Finance, CFO, or Management.
Skills & Experience:
- University Degree.
- Recognized professional qualification in Accounting, with deep knowledge of Swiss COO, IFRS would be an asset.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams in dynamic, high-change environments.
- Professional level of Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint).
- Strong experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central strongly preferred) and driving system-related improvements.
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments is preferred.
- International business exposure, with experience in multi-entity and cross-border accounting.

Languages:
English and French fluent spoken and written.
German is an asset.
