We are looking for committed and qualified professionals to strengthen our Shop Floor team in our Piece Part Repair area at Zurich Airport. In this role, you will work on highly specialised processes for aircraft engine components and make an important contribution to ensuring the highest quality and precision standards in aviation. As a Specialist: Thermal Coating, your tasks include
- Performing thermal spray coatings on aircraft engine components using various coating technologies such as plasma spraying, arc spraying, and HVOF processes
- Preparing and post-processing components for the coating process, including surface protection, sandblasting, and finishing
- Creating and operating robot programmes on 6-axis ABB robots as well as handling components with appropriate fixtures and aids
- Operating, adjusting, and maintaining coating systems, including tasks such as changing spray nozzles, refilling coating powder, checking fluids and filters, and aligning the systems
- Conducting fault analyses and resolving system malfunctions to ensure reliable machine operation
- Working closely with process engineers, system specialists, mechanics, and laboratory specialists to comply with technical specifications and quality requirements
- Interpreting OEM repair manuals, drawings, and manufacturing specifications as well as ensuring a clean and organised workplace according to 5S standards
Your profile
- Completed vocational training as a polymechanic, mechanic, production mechanic, or comparable technical education
- Experience with NC/CNC machines or automated production systems is an advantage
- Experience in thermal spray, coating technology, or surface treatment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Precise, independent, and reliable working style with a high quality awareness
- Good technical understanding, strong problem-solving skills, and basic IT knowledge
- Team-oriented personality with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- English skills at least at B1 level; German skills are an advantage as well as willingness to work in a two-shift system
