(Senior) Laboratory Technician in Process Development

To strengthen our Process Technology team at our site in Visp VS, Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician. In this role, you are responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating experiments in chemical process development in the laboratory and/or pilot scale. Furthermore, you are responsible for operating and further developing various specialized laboratories in the fields of thermal separation technology, solid operations, or corrosion, and you provide colleagues with your experimental expertise as an advisor. Together with coordinators, you represent process development in interdisciplinary project teams during the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of production processes.
Your Responsibilities
- Planning, conducting, evaluating, and discussing experiments in the field of chemical process development (distillation, solid operations, extraction, syntheses, corrosion, etc.)
- Further development of the process development laboratories, independent setup of laboratory apparatus as well as operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Technical laboratory responsibility and contact person for the practical implementation of laboratory experiments, optionally also for pilot experiments
- Training and education of apprentices & interns
- Participation in projects involving laboratory technical issues and support of research and development groups as well as production operations
Your Profile
- Successfully completed vocational training as a chemical laboratory technician EFZ or a comparable qualification
- Teamwork skills, enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration, flexibility, and a sense for safe, precise, efficient, and solution-oriented work in a chemical laboratory
- Good German skills in spoken and written form, basic knowledge of English is a plus
- High safety, quality, and environmental awareness
- Routine in handling PC and common MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Interest in laboratory automation is desirable
- Practical experience in process development is an advantage
