Senior Physician 80-100% - Geriatric Rehabilitation

A medical leadership role with regular working hours during the week and a workload of 80-100%: In a specialised geriatric rehabilitation clinic in the Swiss Lake Constance region, you accompany older people back to a more independent everyday life. You take responsibility in a manageable medical team and work closely with nursing and therapy.

Here you will find a specialised clinic for inpatient geriatric rehabilitation in the rural Thurgau Lake Constance region. It supports older people after illnesses, operations or hospital stays on their way back to as independent a daily life as possible.

The clinic has 37 beds and cares for patients with an average length of stay of three to five weeks. The medical team includes a chief physician, the newly to be filled senior position and another specialist medical post.

Treatment is carried out interprofessionally with specialised nursing staff as well as professionals from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and nutritional therapy. For medical diagnostics, X-ray, ultrasound and ECG are available on site, among others.

The region at the Swiss Lake Constance combines a rural environment with lakeside landscapes, vineyards and diverse opportunities for outdoor activities.

Your tasks:

• Medical care and rehabilitative treatment of older patients with the aim of improving their independence and quality of life
• Professional leadership and support of the medical team in close cooperation with the chief physician
• Interdisciplinary coordination with nursing, therapy and other involved specialist areas
• Co-design and further development of medical treatment processes and quality standards as well as participation in staff training
• Participation in the separately remunerated medical on-call service (standby duty) at night and about one weekend per month

Your skills:

• Specialist title in General Internal Medicine or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with Swiss or equivalently recognised qualification
• Several years of clinical experience in geriatric rehabilitation or geriatrics. An additional qualification in geriatrics is desirable
• Leadership experience or interest in taking on medical responsibility in a senior role
• Independent, patient-oriented working style, high social competence and enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration
• Very good knowledge of German
