Senior Consultant in Emergency Medicine (m/f/d)

In this role, you will take on a demanding, varied position in the senior medical leadership of emergency medicine within a small, family-like team with flat hierarchies and intensive patient contact. You apply your solid professional skills daily in acute care and continuously expand them. In addition, you deepen your ultrasound know-how by acquiring SGUM competency certificates for abdominal sonography and POCUS basic emergency sonography. Predictable working hours in a two-shift system without continuous night shifts and with a maximum of one weekend shift per month ensure a high degree of schedule stability. The role is clearly clinically oriented and allows a focused senior medical activity without additional administrative leadership tasks.
Responsibilities:
- You take over triage and initial treatment of all walk-in patients at the Lucerne site.
- In this role, you ensure emergency medical basic care for a wide range of illnesses from internal medicine, surgery and other specialties.
- As senior consultant in emergency medicine, you utilise the diagnostic possibilities of the central hospital and consult specialists as needed.
- You perform surgical wound care and independently carry out minor surgical procedures.
- In this role, you supervise assistant doctors and promote their professional development.
Qualifications:
- You hold a specialist title in general internal medicine or are close to completing your training.
- You are characterised by a reliable, responsible, communicative and team-oriented personality.
- You enjoy a broad, interdisciplinary medical activity.
- You take pleasure in training and supporting young assistant doctors.
- You are interested in sonography and ideally already have relevant experience.
- Alternatively, you are motivated to systematically learn sonography under the guidance of SGUM-recognised trainers.
