About the job
Demanding family medicine and a family life that remains manageable? In an interprofessional centre in the Winterthur region, you care for your patients with consultations from Monday to Friday and a team that relieves you administratively. The employer supports you with the move from Germany.
The centre is part of a large, nationwide Swiss group for outpatient medicine. Family medicine, orthopaedics, physiotherapy and osteopathy work together under one roof here. A total of around 40 employees provide interprofessional care for patients, including a well-coordinated team of medical practice assistants (MPA, comparable to MFA in Germany) and medical secretaries. ECG, lung function tests, blood analyses and radiology are available on site. Through cooperation with a regional hospital partner, the routes to hospital specialists are short. Consultations take place from Monday to Friday.
Winterthur is the sixth largest city in Switzerland and is located in the northeast of the canton of Zurich. The city is manageable, very green and easily accessible by bike. With the S-Bahn, you can reach Zurich in about 20 minutes and the airport in around 15 minutes. There are direct trains to Konstanz and Munich, and the motorway leads towards Schaffhausen and Kreuzlingen-Konstanz. For families, there are municipally supervised day nurseries and after-school care as well as an international school.
Your tasks:
- You independently and long-term care for your family doctor patients, from prevention to the management of chronic diseases
- You work closely with orthopaedics, physiotherapy and osteopathy in the centre and use the short routes to the hospital partner
- You represent each other collegially within the medical team
- You actively help shape the practice offerings
- You regularly pursue internal and external further training
Your skills:
- Specialist title in General Internal Medicine or an equivalent title recognised in Switzerland (e.g. specialist in General Practice or Internal Medicine from Germany)
- Enjoyment of holistic family medical care, empathy and clear communication
- Team- and solution-oriented working style; experience with electronic medical records (patient files)
- German language skills at C1 level
- Did you obtain your medical diploma abroad? You will be advised and financially supported during recognition via MEBEKO
Your benefits:
- Planned daily routine: consultations Monday to Friday, 80-100% workload, flexible working hours, collegial cover, 25 days holiday (30 days from age 50)
- Family benefits: 14 weeks maternity leave with 100% salary, 10 days parental leave for the second parent with 100% salary, up to six months unpaid leave by arrangement

- Relief in everyday life: an experienced MPA and secretarial team takes over administration and organisation so you can focus on medicine
- Further training: annual budget and up to 8 training days
- Strong security: the employer pays two-thirds of the pension fund contributions, which strengthens your future pension benefits; in case of illness or accident, you receive 100% salary for up to two years
- Living with family: a green city with short distances, S-Bahn service to Zurich and direct trains to Konstanz and Munich
