Nursing Expert APN Psychiatry

In this demanding interface role between psychiatry and somatics, you will take on a central role in psychiatric care within somatics and the emergency setting as a nursing expert of the Psychiatric Services Thurgau, in close coordination with the medical psychiatric consultation service, and contribute significantly to the quality and safety of patient care.

You will take on

• You coordinate collaboration between the emergency team and psychiatry, as well as external partners (police, ambulance service), and actively contribute your expertise to interdisciplinary decision-making
• You carry out crisis interventions in the emergency setting and support de-escalation of stressful or escalating situations
• You bear professional responsibility for psychiatric nursing quality and further develop evidence-based standards and concepts in the emergency area
• You advise, train, and support the treatment team in handling psychiatric emergencies
• You organise further assessments (e.g. somatic diagnostics or consultations) and ensure smooth collaboration at the interfaces

You bring with you

• Several years of professional experience in psychiatric nursing, completed Master’s degree as Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) specialising in psychiatry or comparable qualification
• Strong clinical expertise as well as enthusiasm for advising, coaching, and knowledge transfer
• Excellent multiprofessional and interdisciplinary communication and cooperation skills
• Resilient, reflective, and responsible personality
• Enjoyment in further developing nursing quality and interprofessional processes

The Psychiatric Services Thurgau (PDT) consist of the Psychiatric Clinic Münsterlingen, the Outpatient Adult Psychiatry, and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service. The PDT belong to the successful Spital Thurgau AG with over 4,100 employees. Company locations are in Münsterlingen, Weinfelden, Kreuzlingen, Frauenfeld, and Romanshorn.
