Is this helpful?
There are many good reasons to apply at AVAG. You can find out what they are here.
Do you love working with modern machines? And can you also handle people? Then we are looking for you!
Oberland Energie AG (OEAG) is a subsidiary of AVAG Umwelt AG and BKW FMB Energie AG. It operates the Biomass Center Spiez, where sustainable energy in the form of electricity, district heating, and process steam as well as quality compost is produced from biogenic material. OEAG thus makes an important contribution to the circular economy in the region.
Your field of activity
In this role, you demonstrate your sensitivity for modern machines and support operations with wheel loaders and material handlers.
With your commitment, talent, and appropriate care, you contribute to ensuring that our processes run successfully and safely.
Furthermore, you will gradually get to know our technical systems so that you are also prepared for on-call duties.
Your profile
You have completed a technical vocational training, such as a mechanic specializing in agriculture or construction machinery, etc.
You already have experience operating wheel loaders or excavators.
You enjoy working in a small team and taking on responsibility.
- You also enjoy serving our customers in a service-oriented manner.
These advantages await you with us
- To guarantee that your salary is fair, we regularly participate in nationwide industry salary comparisons.
- Fair also means gender-independent, of course.
- Of course, we pay a 13th-month salary. What is not so obvious is that we cover the employee social security contributions (AHV, IV, EO, ALV) on it.
- Simply put: for the 13th-month salary, gross equals net.
- Even simpler: with the 13th-month salary, (even) more money lands in your account!
- We cover your premiums for non-occupational accident insurance (NBU) as well as for daily sickness benefits insurance.
- At AVAG, your entire annual income is insured with the pension fund – unlike many employers who deduct the coordination deduction, i.e. CHF 26,460.00 (year 2025), from the annual income and only insure the remainder. This has three advantages:
- This means that lower incomes (part-time employees) are also insured with us.
- In addition, your retirement capital automatically increases, so your monthly pension will be higher later.
- In the event of possible insurance benefits due to illness or disability, you are better protected.
- Are you already thinking about your retirement? When the time comes, we pay for you and your partner a one-day seminar with an external expert office and provide advisory support if needed.
- Paid maternity leave is 16 weeks, and the salary is paid 100% during this time. New fathers receive two weeks of paternity leave; also at 100% salary.
- And who takes care of your offspring now? We provide a support contribution (CHF 150.00 per child per month) for external, paid childcare.
- We offer part-time positions, and depending on the position, thanks to our modern IT infrastructure, home office is also an option.
You like to hit the books? We think that’s great, so we contribute to function-related training and further education! Of course, we conclude fair training agreements for this.
In addition, you benefit from regular specialized courses with us so that you can keep your know-how up to date.
With us, you have the opportunity to continuously develop yourself in everyday work and also take on new challenges. By the way, career changers are also warmly welcome.
- With us, you get 25 vacation days annually and even 30 from the age of 50!
- Do you want to see more of the world? Then as an AVAG employee, you have the option to buy one to two weeks of vacation per year.
- As an AVAG employee, you better bring your "Ghüderseckli" to work, because with us you can dispose of your personal household waste for free.
- Your work clothes and safety equipment are of course provided by us. And because we know that you sometimes sweat a lot with all the hard work, we take care of the cleaning for you – free of charge.
- You also pay nothing for parking with us. In addition, charging options for e-vehicles are available – and at preferential conditions.
- Only the best for your vegetables! Our employees can obtain quality compost free of charge for personal use at the Biomass Center Spiez.
- You have to bring your own snack with you; however, the coffee during breaks is free depending on the location or is compensated as a beverage allowance with the salary. In addition, we provide a fruity vitamin bomb every week.
- Not quite free, but worth mentioning are our numerous pool vehicles available to all employees for work. Outside opening hours, you may also use the vehicles privately for a small fee.
- Do you suffer from shopping fever? For private purposes, you can benefit from AVAG purchasing conditions.
- Surprise! On special occasions, you don’t get a wet handshake from us but a nice gift! And sometimes we don’t even need a reason to surprise you with a small token.
- If you stay loyal to us, you will receive a generous loyalty bonus on anniversaries, either in the form of money or additional vacation days.
- If you stay loyal to us until the end and retire at AVAG, you will still belong to us afterwards. We invite you to a retirees’ outing every year, and you can continue to dispose of your personal household waste with us for free.
- We also like to keep it casual sometimes, e.g., twice a year at a company orientation including a joint dinner. In addition, there are other events and occasions where we toast together.
- Idle time and complicated structures are anathema to us. That’s why you will find flat hierarchies, short communication paths, and continuity with us. And we all use first names.
- You don’t have to risk your head and neck with us. Before starting the job, we create your personal health burden profile together, and you receive an introduction to the most important basics of occupational safety.
- Of course, we provide you with suitable protective equipment and ensure that hazards are minimized.
- Safety is so important to us that this area is even represented in management, and we also have a certified management system for safety and health (ISO 45002:2018).
