The IT Department is the central IT service provider of the University of St.Gallen (HSG). It ensures stable and secure IT operations for around 10,000 students and over 3,700 employees and develops future-oriented digital solutions for teaching, research, and administration. Organized into five specialized teams, HSG's IT is a strategic partner for the further development of the university.
Your Tasks
- In this central role, you take on the leadership responsibility as head of the department and thus as a member of the executive management for the operational and strategic development of the IT Department, taking into account the usual standards regarding security, stability, quality, service orientation, and costs.
- Your solid expertise and proven experience help to make the best use of potentials through digitalization and AI solutions against the background of HSG's specific needs and to master the associated challenges as a "driver".
- You ensure an impact-oriented and productivity-enhancing use of IT through constant communication with all stakeholders within HSG and develop future-oriented solutions that recognize and address their needs early on.
- With your solid expertise and proven experience, you further develop the IT Department into an IT organization that makes the best possible value contributions to the demanding strategic goals of our university.
Your Profile
- You bring several years of leadership experience in managing an IT organization (preferably in the higher education sector) and hold a university degree (preferably in computer science, business informatics, or a related field), complemented by advanced management training.
- Sound knowledge is required in the areas of IT governance, IT strategy development, process digitalization, IT service management, IT architecture, and project portfolio and project management, including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft and ServiceNow solutions, as well as AI implementations and cloud computing.
- You impress with entrepreneurial thinking, level-appropriate communication, teamwork, agile leadership (SAFe), experience in software development, and feel at home in a complex and dynamic environment in the educational sector.
- Very good German and English skills complete your profile.
