The position is attached to the Office of the Director and External Affairs , a cross-functional department integrated into the General Management. In line with the strategic axes of the HUG, the Office of the Director and External Affairs contributes to strengthening the influence and visibility of the HUG. Its actions aim to coordinate institutional partnerships at the cantonal, regional, national and international levels, reinforce the position of the HUG within international Geneva, contribute to the HUG philanthropic programme, support the deployment of humanitarian activities, coordinate relations with churches, religious communities and chaplaincies, and lead the institutional sustainability approach.
The Social and Environmental Responsibility Unit (CSR) is tasked with coordinating the implementation of the 2030 Sustainability Strategy for the entire institution, in close collaboration with all hospital departments and management.
As a CSR Project Manager, you actively contribute to the development and implementation of the HUG sustainability strategy, particularly its environmental component.
You are responsible for monitoring, analysing and documenting the sustainability performance of the HUG, establishing the institution's carbon footprint, and monitoring and coordinating the sustainability action plan.
In close collaboration with the various services, management and departments of the institution, you lead projects related to the implementation of the sustainability strategy as well as projects and events to raise awareness of sustainability.
You provide expert support to the various services, management and departments in the fields of sustainable development, particularly environmental and climate protection. You advise on best practices and implement initiatives to promote sustainability within the HUG.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s level university degree in the field of environment, sustainable development or an equivalent qualification, with at least 5 years of successful experience in a similar role, ideally in a complex environment involving multiple stakeholders.
Certifications in project management (HERMES; IPMA, Prince2 or PMI), change management and carbon footprint are preferred.
You are a pragmatic person with excellent interpersonal skills and good listening abilities. Your ability to influence without direct hierarchical authority allows you to work comfortably in multidisciplinary contexts and collaborate across departments.
You have excellent analytical skills and very good writing and oral presentation abilities.
You have an excellent command of spoken and written French as well as a very good level of written and spoken English; proficiency in German is an asset.
