Gymnasium Neufeld is a state school of the Canton of Bern with around 1,850 students, 220 teachers and 50 staff members. The school sets clear and high standards for teachers and learners and places great emphasis on comprehensive advice and support. The three gymnasium departments (Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Economics and Law) are organised according to their specialisations and lead to a gymnasium matriculation certificate. The training in the fourth department, the Bern Maturity School for Adults, leads to a gymnasium matriculation certificate or the Passerelle examination. The fifth department, the cantonal specialised middle school, offers a three-year course leading to a cantonal specialised middle school or specialised maturity certificate.

Responsibilities
As Head of the Department of Economics and Law, 60-70% (excluding teaching), you are responsible for the pedagogical and administrative management of this department. In doing so, you organise, promote and develop teaching in collaboration with the faculty in accordance with the objectives and quality standards of our school and the canton.
Together with the overall management and the other department heads, you are part of the school management of Gymnasium Neufeld. In addition to your management duties, we expect you to teach a small workload.
Requirements
For this demanding role, we are looking for a committed individual with leadership or project management experience, a completed professional qualification as a gymnasium teacher and several years of teaching experience at a secondary school. You are skilled in negotiation and implementation; your working style is structured and solution-oriented. You enjoy working in a team and are willing to take on responsibility. You are able to communicate appropriately and competently with the target group. You have completed school management training or are willing to undertake such training in the near future.
