Job Description

The GSEM (Geneva School of Economics and Management) invites applications for a full-time professorship in management. The successful candidate will contribute to GSEM's research, teaching, and outreach activities in the area of "Business and Society", broadly understood. We are looking for a researcher whose work focuses on the interactions between organisations and societal issues, and which is firmly rooted in the core disciplines of management such as organisational behaviour, organisation theory, and strategy.

The appointee must be able to teach at bachelor, master, doctoral, and continuing education (executive education) levels, supervise master’s theses as well as doctoral dissertations, and contribute to the development of the Institute of Management. Teaching will mainly cover topics related to "Business and Society", including sustainability, ESG criteria, responsible management, and stakeholder relations. They will also help strengthen the Faculty's links with the Geneva ecosystem, including international organisations, NGOs, public institutions, and companies.

Title and Required Skills

Applicants must demonstrate an excellent research record evidenced by publications in leading academic management journals. An established research programme addressing "Business and Society" issues such as sustainability, ESG criteria, responsible management, stakeholder relations, or related topics, while remaining firmly anchored in fundamental management theories, is essential. We welcome candidates employing a wide variety of empirical research methods. A strong quantitative research profile would be a particular asset to complement existing expertise within the Institute and support doctoral training and supervision.

Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and have experience in topics related to "Business and Society". Experience in continuing education (executive education), or strong potential to contribute to such programmes, is highly desirable. The ability to teach in English is required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
