Administrative Employee (Fixed-term 9 Months) 100%To complement our team, we are looking for a committed individual as a maternity cover on a fixed-term basis from July 2026 to the end of March 2027 (with the possibility of a permanent part-time position).
The Cantonal Laboratory Zurich is responsible for monitoring compliance with legislation on food, chemicals, tobacco products, and solariums in the canton of Zurich. We test food and consumer goods in our laboratory and inspect businesses. The Administration Department supports the specialist departments as part of the Services division through comprehensive administrative and organisational activities.
For the Administration Department (secretarial, sample registration, reception tasks), we are looking for an employee to join our team immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Rotating deployment several times a week in various work areas (secretariat/reception/sample registration)
- Drafting and sending correspondence (paper and digital)
- Preparation of standard letters and invoices according to established processes
- Registration of incoming mail and digital correspondence in the business control system
- Operation of the reception and telephone switchboard
- Registration of incoming samples in the laboratory information system
Your profile
- Completed commercial or comparable training with at least 3 years of professional experience
- Experience in highly structured areas such as authorities, offices, or laboratories is an advantage
- Ability to quickly grasp and link complex contexts
- Enjoyment of varied tasks and working in a rotation system
- Quality-oriented, resilient, flexible, and strong in active team collaboration
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form (additional languages are an advantage)
- Solid IT knowledge and understanding of interconnected digital systems
- Strong service orientation
