In view of the retirement of its long-time director, the FONDATION SUISA is looking for an engaged and enthusiastic personality for the position of director or director starting July 1, 2026, or by agreement.
You are passionate about music and want to actively contribute to shaping the Swiss music scene? Since 1989, the FONDATION SUISA has been promoting the diversity of musical creation in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. We support and accompany musicians, composers, and performers in their creative projects and do everything possible to ensure that their works are heard and valued.
Your Role
- As part of a motivated team of five people and with the Foundation Board and the Artistic Commission, you will be responsible for the strategic, operational, and artistic direction of the Foundation.
- You will develop innovative formats and projects for the targeted encouragement of musicians and ensure that our support activities have a lasting impact.
- You will advise and assist the Artistic Commission in evaluating grant applications submitted.
- You will maintain a dynamic network and represent the Foundation convincingly and authentically to the SUISA cooperative, its partners, authorities, associations, and the general public.
- You will be responsible for planning the Foundation's commercial activities, personnel development, budget, and IT.
What You Bring
- You have solid experience in the music sector and a broad interdisciplinary understanding of music.
- You have experience in managing a small organization and enjoy developing your skills in this area.
- Ideally, you have in-depth knowledge of cultural management or business economics.
- You have experience in the field of non-profit organizations and foundations (basic legal knowledge is welcome).
- You have a sense of communication and networking and favor a participatory and solution-oriented leadership style.
- You have experience in budget and financial management.
- You are a French or German speaker, fluent in the other language, and have very good knowledge of English. Speaking Italian would be an additional asset.
