About the job
Your team
Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a leading alternative investment group and a wholly owned subsidiary of Pictet with expertise in hedge funds, private equity, real estate, private debt and infrastructure. With teams based globally, PAA constructs, manages and advises portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.
You will be part of a team of 20 professionals dedicated to Pictet’s pan-European Direct Real Estate franchise, which began in 2019 with the launch of Elevation Fund I, a EUR 700 million value-add fund. Elevation Fund II was launched in 2023, and a Core Plus fund, with approximately EUR 200 million under management, was launched in 2021. The team is distributed across several locations: in London, where the core investment and asset management teams are based; in Geneva, where the investment legal and investor relations teams operate; and in Berlin and Stockholm, where our regional heads are located. Additionally, fund support functions such as fund administration, compliance, and legal affairs are situated in Luxembourg and London.
Your role
As part of the Direct Real Estate team based in Geneva you will:
• Lead the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide range of real estate and financing documents, including shareholders’ agreements, financing agreements, lease agreements, SPAs, construction agreements, etc.
• Support direct real estate transactions from inception to closing, helping to drive execution by coordinating legal workstreams, managing negotiations and liaising with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
• Act as a key legal partner on cross-border matters, working closely with internal teams across jurisdictions on transaction status, documentation, payment mechanics and related execution steps.
• Provide day-to-day legal support on asset management and project matters, combining strong technical legal drafting with a practical, commercially minded and solutions-oriented approach to business issues, focused on finding practical solutions to the team’s challenges rather than acting solely as a gatekeeper.
• Lead and support legal documentation for development, construction and refurbishment matters, including preparing, revising and finalising project and works contracts for counterparties.
Your profile
• Between 5 and 8 years post-qualification in the real estate department of a major and reputable law firm ideally completed by in-house experience, and have experienced leading acquisitions, disposals and financings (beyond due diligence support or minor supporting roles).
• Experience working on transactions in at least 3 different jurisdictions.
• The candidate should have flexibility to travel within Europe for business purposes.
• Fluent in English, any additional European language such as French, Spanish, German or Danish would be an asset.
• You have a particular interest of and existing experience with AI tools for task/workflow automation.
• Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
As the selected candidate, you have developed a passion for real estate and are seeking to be involved in exciting real estate projects. You are a strong and dedicated professional who genuinely values team spirit and is comfortable with the level of commitment that an M&A role naturally involves, given the pace and unpredictability of live transactions.
With a flat hierarchy and a collaborative culture, success comes from teamwork, open information sharing, and constructive debate, enabling you to learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and grow. If you are excited about the role but do not meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to providing a supportive environment where people can grow.
