What you can look forward to.
In this key role, you actively shape the framework conditions for the professional reorientation of employees after reorganisations and make a central contribution to the social responsibility of SBB. You lead employees after job loss with disciplinary line responsibility and balance individual support with clear entrepreneurial and labour law requirements. As a member of the management team of the Labour Market Centre and SBB Anyway, you combine strategic development with operational leadership and shape the future of the Job Centre across Switzerland. You can expect a complex, dynamic environment with a high degree of creative freedom, diverse stakeholders, and tangible impact for employees and the company. Benefits such as a free GA, discounted travel abroad – also for the family – can be found on our website under Benefits .
What you can achieve.
- As Head of the Job Centre, you take overall responsibility for supporting employees after job loss, from prevention through hierarchical and disciplinary leadership in the Job Centre to the completion of professional reorientation, in close cooperation with the advisors.
- In the role of product and process manager, you are responsible for the professional leadership of career reorientation, ensuring good coordination with the advisors, equal treatment of employees, and sustainable support during the job search until a solution is found.
- You conduct demanding personnel discussions and decisions respectfully and professionally, including critical feedback and handling complex labour law situations up to contract terminations.
- Together with the line management, you coordinate internal temporary assignments, conduct site discussions, and ensure that employees are meaningfully deployed and integrated within SBB during their job search.
- Through active networking with relevant stakeholders in HR, managers, and top management, you raise awareness of the impact of reorganisations on employees facing job loss and thus promote the end-to-end approach from strategic-conceptual considerations to concrete support of employees.
- For the financial and operational management of the Job Centre, you confidently use key figures, analyses, and controlling tools, derive measures from them, and develop offers, processes, and management instruments effectively and innovatively, thereby ensuring the strategic development of the Job Centre.
What you bring with you.
- As an integrative, resilient, and conflict-capable leadership personality, you bring experience in leading employees or teams in demanding change and leadership contexts and are able to set personal and professional boundaries.
- With communication strength, presence, and awareness of impact, you act confidently even in difficult situations, win over different stakeholders for your projects, and build sustainable relationships.
- Thanks to your open personality and networking skills, you work purposefully and profitably with different stakeholder groups.
- You have experience in using key figures, analyses, and controlling tools as well as formulating measurable goals, developing targeted concepts, and making well-founded decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data.
- For this role, we require a university degree at master’s level in business administration, psychology, labour/social sciences, or a comparable field. In addition, you have experience in project management, consulting, and coaching as well as knowledge in labour market integration, professional reorientation, reintegration, job loss, collective labour agreements (CLA), and regional employment centres (RAV).
- Fluent written and spoken German skills (C2) are required for this position. Knowledge of other national languages is an advantage.
