For one of the most successful and innovative companies in the German-speaking region, we are looking for a visionary and implementation-driven personality as a Data Architect.
In this key role, you combine state-of-the-art software architecture with strategic business impact. You build scalable, highly available data landscapes for critical core areas such as Financial Operations, Payment, and Fraud Prevention with direct influence on millions of customer interactions.
- Strategic Sparring Partner: You work closely with product owners, software engineers, data engineers, and business specialists from finance and fraud prevention teams to translate complex business requirements into elegant data models.
- Hands-on & Mentoring: You support interdisciplinary teams in architectural decisions, establish best practices for data governance and data modelling, and translate corporate goals into clear technical roadmaps.
- Innovation & Modernisation: You continuously evaluate new technologies, modernise existing data flows (streaming & batch), and drive an uncompromising data-driven culture.
- Excellent technical domain knowledge: Deep understanding of modern data modelling (relational, NoSQL, event-driven architectures), cloud data platforms, and enterprise integrations (e.g. event streaming via Kafka, DWH/data lakehouse).
- Business understanding: Strong affinity for transaction data, financial data streams, and risk management systems.
- Communication & assertiveness: Ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both development teams and stakeholders at management level.
- Languages: Fluent German and very good English skills for working in an international engineering environment.

Responsibilities
- Architecture & Vision: You design and are responsible for the end-to-end data architecture in the central order management platform and ensure its performance, scalability, and resilience.- Strategic Sparring Partner: You work closely with product owners, software engineers, data engineers, and business specialists from finance and fraud prevention teams to translate complex business requirements into elegant data models.
- Hands-on & Mentoring: You support interdisciplinary teams in architectural decisions, establish best practices for data governance and data modelling, and translate corporate goals into clear technical roadmaps.

Profile
- Several years of architectural expertise: Solid experience as a data architect, enterprise architect, or lead data engineer in big data or high-scale e-commerce environments.- Excellent technical domain knowledge: Deep understanding of modern data modelling (relational, NoSQL, event-driven architectures), cloud data platforms, and enterprise integrations (e.g. event streaming via Kafka, DWH/data lakehouse).
- Business understanding: Strong affinity for transaction data, financial data streams, and risk management systems.
