With nearly 1,300 employees, the Department of Psychiatry fulfils a triple mission concerning the treatment of mental disorders, education, and research. Thus, the department's mission is to detect and effectively treat increasingly frequent and diverse pathologies while respecting patients and their relatives.

The Liaison Psychiatry and Crisis Intervention Service is responsible for the assessment, orientation, and follow-up of interdisciplinary treatment of psychiatric disorders in patients who are hospitalised or followed up in outpatient consultations across the various HUG sites. The service is also mandated to welcome, care for, and direct patients presenting to the HUG emergency department. The service offers a stimulating and diverse clinical environment, at the heart of the hospital, fostering interactions with numerous medical and surgical specialty services. It also provides a high-quality training framework, with a structured internal training programme including clinical presentations and other interactive educational formats.

You will join an intrahospital care unit of the Crisis Intervention Beds (CIB) of the Liaison Psychiatry and Crisis Intervention Service. The mission of this unit is the hospital crisis care of patients presenting suicidal ideas or behaviours. The CIB offers brief, specialised, evidence-based interventions (mentalisation-based therapies, best clinical practices for borderline personality disorder).

As head of clinic, you actively participate in the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic follow-up of hospitalised patients, while ensuring the coordination of their care with network partners. You play a key role in supporting junior doctors, managing patient flow, and fostering interprofessional dynamics, notably through conducting medical-nursing interviews. You also benefit from regular clinical support through supervisions provided by an assistant physician.

You hold the federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).

If you hold a specialty title, you possess the cantonal practice licence or are able to obtain it before starting the position.

For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.

The FMH title in psychiatry and psychotherapy and/or experience in psychiatry, particularly in emergency and crisis psychiatry, are assets.
