About the job

The Blue Cross Bern-Solothurn-Freiburg is a specialist organisation for addiction issues with the areas of work prevention + health promotion, counselling + therapy as well as integration + enterprises. Around 90 employees and about 260 volunteers at 13 locations implement the diverse services, which are co-financed by performance mandates from the cantons as well as donations and contributions from institutions and private individuals.

The networking with the Swiss and International Blue Cross supports innovations and quality assurance. The Blue Cross is politically and denominationally independent.

Our restaurant Azzurro in Bern is an alcohol-free meeting place with 90 indoor and 70 outdoor seats. In addition to the gastronomic offer, Azzurro creates space for encounters and offers jobs within the framework of social and professional integration.

Your tasks

Service and guest care

• You are responsible for the service area and take care of the purchase and management of drinks and non-food items
• You ensure smooth guest operations and actively assist with the tasks that arise
• You prepare rooms for meetings, seminars and other events
• You organise and carry out internal and external events as well as catering
• You help shape the meeting place work, organise events such as lottery afternoons and offer low-threshold counselling

Housekeeping and hygiene

• You are responsible for cleaning, laundry and maintenance at the location
• You ensure compliance with hygienic, legal and professional standards in the restaurant and housekeeping
• You ensure a clean, well-kept and inviting environment

Guidance and collaboration

• You guide employees in integration programmes in their tasks and support them through your practical work in everyday work
• You work closely with the specialist teams from the kitchen and integration
• You contribute to the coordination and support of volunteers in the gastronomy area

You bring with you

• You have a completed EFZ qualification in gastronomy or housekeeping
• You bring pedagogical skills and meet people with an addiction openly and appreciatively
• You have very good spoken German skills
• You enjoy guest contact and are characterised by service orientation, empathy and resilience
• You work cleanly, have a strong awareness of hygiene and are confident in handling cash registers and billing
• You work independently, are a team player and communicate clearly and appreciatively
• You are willing to take on irregular shifts as well as occasional evening and weekend shifts
