In close collaboration with the head and the team of the Grants Office, you are responsible for the areas of research funding and third-party fund management of research at ZHdK. You accompany the entire project cycle of research projects, from application planning to project completion.
Together with your team colleague, you form the contact point of the Grants Office and advise ZHdK researchers in the search for third-party funding and inform about suitable funding instruments. You are familiar with the framework conditions of national and international funding systems, especially those of the Swiss National Science Foundation. You support researchers in the formal preparation of applications and review them before submission. To find suitable funding programs for promising research projects, you are in active exchange with the research units of ZHdK. In your interface function, you support researchers in project management and ensure smooth implementation as well as compliance with internal and external requirements. Project-related, you implement personnel and financial planning, conduct controlling and budgeting, prepare financial reports, and develop key figures for management. Regarding university-wide financial processes, you are responsible for reporting, annual financial statements, and forecasting/budgeting of the third-party funded research projects assigned to you. In doing so, you work closely with the Finance & Controlling and HRM departments of ZHdK. You manage the research database as well as the research-relevant figures in the BI tool. Furthermore, you assist in conducting workshops and courses. As an employee of the Grants Office, you also contribute to the future Vice-Rectorate for Research & Innovation and maintain interfaces to its other areas of responsibility (including PhD, Open Science, communication).
We are looking for a responsible and communicative personality who works analytically, precisely, and solution-oriented. You are familiar with tools and operational processes of universities and keep an overview even in complex matters. You have the skills to take on a demanding interface function and collaborate with various partners both internally and externally at the university. As an employee in the Grants Office, you maintain an open and collegial approach. You are a motivated and reliable person who enjoys customer- and service-oriented work and appreciates working in a lively and inspiring environment. Teamwork as well as an independent and well-organized working style are important to you. We require a degree in business administration or a related discipline from a university or university of applied sciences (master's level). You have professional experience in the university context or in research management. Ideally, you can demonstrate experience in project controlling and personnel processes. Knowledge in third-party fund management as well as in national and international funding structures complete your profile. You also have solid experience with MS Office products, especially Excel, as well as with FMS systems and possess very good German and English skills.
We offer you a challenging and varied task in a lively environment. The employment conditions are based on the personnel legislation of the canton of Zurich.
