The Swiss Centre for the Visually Impaired in the Professional Environment (SIBU) is part of Erlenhof | Foundation. People with visual impairments learn at SIBU to use individually tailored aids efficiently as a key to every professional perspective. Our clients are the cantonal IV offices.
To complement our team, we are looking for a
Computer Science Teacher for Visually Impaired 60 - 70 %
Your field of activity:- As a training specialist, you teach visually impaired and blind clients in computer science subjects (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet)
- You convey PC control using keyboard commands and screen reader software
- You deliver computer science lessons incorporating visual impairment technical aids and compensatory work techniques in individual or small group settings
- Participation in projects to further develop the educational offer is also part of this interesting role
- A recognised pedagogical qualification or an equivalent qualification and/or you have teaching experience as a computer science teacher
- Experience in preparing for ICDL exams and/or in teaching commercial computer science as well as an ICDL examiner diploma are advantageous
- Willingness to familiarise yourself with visual impairment technical assistance programmes
- Very good keyboard typing skills
- You have a strong ability to identify the individual needs of our clients and to design their lessons clearly, structured and understandably with patience and empathy
