About the job
The Baumer Group is an internationally leading manufacturer of sensors and measuring instruments for factory and process automation. We owe this success to our approximately 2,800 employees worldwide, who are always passionately, expertly, and committedly searching for the best solutions for our customers.
The headquarters in Frauenfeld (Thurgau) sets the pace for the globally sought-after Baumer sensor solutions. Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.
At X-Sensors in Diessenhofen, I am looking for a personality who likes to be close to the action: you analyse disruptions, find pragmatic solutions, and at the same time bring the calmness to sustainably optimise processes. You move confidently between the shopfloor, development, and external partners and understand how to bring different perspectives together. Particularly important to me is your eye for quality, efficiency, and production-oriented design. If you like to get stuck in, think structurally, and enjoy driving things forward, you fit perfectly into my team. I look forward to meeting you. Matthias Kascher, Head of Process Sensor Technology
What I drive
- You ensure stable production operations, analyse disruptions, and solve problems in day-to-day business quickly and sustainably – directly on the shopfloor.
- You plan, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes and aids and apply lean and improvement methods purposefully.
- You industrialise new products from development to series maturity and ensure production-oriented designs, clear documentation, and smooth processes.
- You drive quality, efficiency, and cost optimisations forward, work closely with internal interfaces and external partners, and further develop processes towards automation and digitalisation; optionally, there is the possibility to take on tasks in network management.
What it takes
- You have a solid technical foundation (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable) and understand production processes holistically.
- You think analytically, recognise optimisation potentials, and confidently apply methods such as lean or structured problem-solving.
- You bring experience in project management and take responsibility from analysis to implementation.
- You are a hands-on personality who likes to get stuck in, finds pragmatic solutions, and communicates confidently with various stakeholders.
With us, collaboration takes place where ideas are born: together on site. We are convinced that good leadership, team spirit, and quick decisions work best when people can exchange personally. That is why we deliberately rely on 100% work on site – for close collaboration, short distances, and a lively corporate culture. In exceptional cases (e.g., a craftsman’s visit, doctor’s appointment, official business, etc.), it is of course possible to work from home occasionally.
