For our Building Construction, Planning and Energy department, we are looking for a strong leadership personality as Head of Department Building Construction, Planning, Energy 80-100%.

Your workplace offers a direct view of Lake Thun and plenty of space to actively shape the future of Spiez.

As Head of Department, you are responsible for the specialist areas of Building Construction / Building Police as well as Planning and Energy. You lead an eight-person team, shape the professional development of the department and advance demanding construction, planning and energy projects in a targeted manner. In doing so, you work closely with the head of the department, report directly to the municipal president and are a member of the municipal management team.

Your tasks:

• Professional and personnel management of the department with eight employees
• Responsibility for the implementation of building permit procedures and support of complex construction projects
• Management and implementation of projects in the areas of building construction, spatial planning and energy
• Active participation in municipal development and support of site developments
• Implementation of the strategic objectives of the municipal council in close cooperation with the head of the department
• Consultation of builders and support of quality assurance procedures
• Advising the planning and building commission as well as representing matters in the municipal council
• Cooperation with other departments and representation of the municipality in regional working groups

Your profile:

• You are a convincing leadership personality who provides orientation, takes responsibility and motivates and develops employees
• You communicate clearly, negotiate skilfully and move confidently in exchanges with politics, administration, specialist offices, builders and other stakeholders
• You work independently, reliably and with a high awareness of quality
• You think in networks, approach complex issues in a structured manner and bring different interests together in a solution-oriented way
• You have a solid education in the field of building construction, planning, energy or a related discipline as well as several years of professional and leadership experience
• You bring proven experience in managing and implementing projects; experience in public administration is desirable but not essential
• You identify with Spiez and want to shape municipal development with commitment, foresight and passion
