Role:
In this role, you will take on the senior consultant leadership of intensive care medicine and shape the medical direction as well as the strategic development of the department. You are responsible for supervising and training the medical and interdisciplinary team and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Additionally, you coordinate complex intensive care treatment courses, make guideline-compliant therapy decisions, and ensure close interdisciplinary collaboration. Another focus lies in the continuous optimisation of processes, quality assurance, and patient safety. Furthermore, depending on the focus, you contribute to clinical research, teaching activities, or project-specific development tasks.
Responsibilities:
- You assume senior consultant responsibility for the medical care of patients in the interdisciplinary 6-bed intensive care unit.
- In this role, you participate in the intensive care on-call service and ensure continuous care of critically ill patients.
- You conduct consultative assessments of critically ill patients on the general wards.
- As Senior Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine, you perform consultative invasive procedures such as electrical cardioversion, placement of temporary pacemakers, and central venous catheters.
- You work closely and cooperatively with other specialties in the hospital on consultative questions and interventions.
- In this role, you are involved in the training and education of assistant doctors and nursing staff in the intensive care unit.
Qualifications:
- Specialist title in intensive care medicine and anaesthesia or in internal medicine
- High resilience, flexibility, and strong communication skills
- Strong social competence and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Willingness to work weekend shifts and night on-call duties according to SGI guidelines
- Motivation to actively pass on knowledge and skills to assistant doctors
