This is what you can look forward to.
As Head of Short-Term Planning for shunting staff & shunting locomotives, you and your team are the central point of contact for all short-term changes within the time horizon from 3 months to 48 hours before the day of transport. Whether adjustments due to construction sites, optimisations or new customer requirements, your team adapts the planning at the right time and ensures a robust handover to scheduling and rail operations. You ensure efficient resource utilisation and high adaptability, thereby making a direct contribution to the financial result as well as to the stability and performance of the entire SBB rail freight transport. At the same time, you think ahead: you actively drive process improvements, automation and new working methods and make short-term planning fit for the future. Your contribution makes the difference – for smooth & efficient transports, a strong team and the future of rail freight transport.
This is what you can achieve.
- In daily operations, you lead a team of around 15 employees and are part of the resource planning management team.
- You are responsible for timely, robust and efficient planning of locomotive rotations and duties for shunting staff within the time horizon of around three months to 48 hours before the day of transport.
- With passion, you drive the digitalisation and automation of planning processes forward.
- Together with the management team, you further develop planning standards and ensure their consistent application.
- As a leader, you actively shape the transformation of SBB Cargo’s business model as well as leadership, culture and attitude.
- Based on relevant key figures, you anticipate changing conditions and optimise short-term resource planning with a direct contribution to the financial result.
This is what you bring with you.
- In challenging phases of change, you lead people with clarity, respect and consistency and keep an anticipatory overview.
- You analyse complex issues, simplify them into clear decisions and derive effective measures. You communicate convincingly at eye level, both orally and in writing.
- You hold a university or university of applied sciences degree in business administration, finance or a technical discipline. Depending on your career path, you have furthered your business education.
- Very good German and French skills (C1) are required for these challenges.
