About the job
The Legal Service is part of the General Secretariat and supports the Rectorate as well as the institutes and other areas of the University of St.Gallen in all legal matters. For the duration of a major project, we are seeking reinforcement for our team with a focus on public law to support day-to-day operations.
Your tasks
- You will handle files in various areas of public law, such as requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act and other regulations or proceedings concerning scientific integrity.
- You will participate in advising and supporting the Rectorate, departments, administrative units, and institutes of the University of St.Gallen on legal issues and provide the basis for sound decisions.
- In addition, you will draft, develop, and review contracts together with various internal contacts and contribute practical, clear solutions.
- You will support the preparation of well-founded and target-group-appropriate resolutions and decisions of university bodies.
- You will contribute to the (prospective) compliance with legal regulations by the University of St.Gallen.
- You will be involved in the development of university regulations and internal rules.
Your profile
- Completed law degree (licence / master) from a Swiss university.
- Initial legal professional experience with a focus on public law, for example in an in-house role, in public administration, in a public-law constituted or regulated body, or in an advisory capacity (e.g. in a law firm), ideally in the education sector.
- Structured, precise, and reliable working style.
- Convincing, solution-oriented communication at different hierarchical levels.
- Very good German skills as well as good English skills.
- Affinity for legal issues in the context of digitalisation and IT as well as a good understanding of technical contexts are advantageous.
