Operational Risk Manager
Company Description
Our client, a recognised international financial institution firmly established in Geneva, is seeking, as part of strengthening its Risk team, an Operational Risk Manager to contribute to the development and maintenance of its operational risk management framework.
Job Description
- Maintain and develop the operational risk management framework
- Review, challenge and support the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercises
- Collaborate with various stakeholders within the three lines of defence
- Conduct control tests and assess their effectiveness
- Participate in various risk reviews and operational risk analyses
- Identify potential weaknesses in the control framework and contribute to defining corrective measures
- Ensure rigorous follow-up of risk issues and associated action plans
- Contribute to the application and evolution of the regulatory framework applicable to operational risks
- Operationally participate in various projects and cross-functional topics of the team.
Profile Sought
- Higher university education in Finance, Economics, Audit, Risk Management or equivalent training
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Operational Risk, Audit or internal control, ideally within a financial institution or an audit/consulting firm
- Good understanding of Swiss banking regulatory frameworks and operational risk issues
- Practical experience with RCSA, control testing, risk reviews and internal control frameworks
- Experience gained within a Big Four is a real asset
- Ability to have a holistic view of the function while remaining very operational in execution
- Hands-on, proactive personality comfortable in an environment where everyone directly contributes to the team’s various activities
- Excellent organisational, analytical and prioritisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Very good command of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Avaloq is an advantage
- Fluent English and very good level of French are essential
- Proficiency in German is an additional asset.
