In this role, you develop firmware and software for the central functionality of our surgical devices in ophthalmic surgery. With your expertise, you ensure that our systems are not only powerful but also secure and future-proof.What you can achieve
- Develop innovative embedded software solutions for demanding and safety-critical medical technology applications
- Analyse system requirements and derive technical specifications as well as future-oriented software architectures
- Implement, verify and validate software according to EN 62304 and accompany it throughout the entire development cycle
- Contribute to the cyber security strategy of our products and help develop secure, regulatory-compliant solutions
- Conduct cyber security risk analyses, define appropriate protective measures and oversee their technical implementation
- Drive the further development of our CI/CD landscape and optimise build, test and deployment processes
- Work interdisciplinarily with system architecture, hardware development and other departments to realise innovative solutions
- Contribute your expertise to technical concepts, architectural decisions and modern development methods
- Conduct software reviews and ensure the highest quality and security standards together with the team
- Create and maintain technical software documentation considering regulatory requirements
What distinguishes you
- Completed studies in electronics, software engineering, systems engineering, medical technology or a comparable field
- Proven experience in software development, ideally in the embedded environment
- Very good knowledge of C++ or Rust
- Experience in API development for IoT connectivity as well as with hardening measures such as Secure Boot
- Experience in cyber security management of embedded systems
- Solid knowledge of embedded Linux, ideally Yocto
- Confident handling of CI/CD pipelines, container technologies and Git
- Independent, structured and responsible working style
- Good English skills, both spoken and written
- Ideally, you already have knowledge in fuzz and penetration testing
- Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban rounds off your profile
