The staff of the Forensic Technical Operations Service work in the interest of efficient and court-admissible criminal prosecution in cooperation with all employees of all departments of the Schaffhausen Police as well as the public prosecutor's office and the courts. They are specialists in the field of trace detection, preservation and evaluation as well as in the forensic registration of suspects.

Forensic Technician (m/f), 80-100 %
What to expect- Trace preservation in various criminal offences as well as the resulting trace and laboratory technical evaluations and examinations
- Photographing persons, crime scenes, accidents and traces
- Handling of unusual deaths
- Investigation of causes of fire
- Forensic registration of persons
- ID and document checks
- Preparation of trace reports and documentation as well as provision of further evidence for investigative and prosecuting authorities
- Conducting forensic damage site processing at major incidents
- Providing on-call and weekend service
What you bring
- Police officer (m/f) with a federal professional certificate or degree in forensics
- Swiss citizenship
- Several years of experience in police service
- Willingness to train and further educate in the field of forensic science and forensics
- Physically and mentally resilient (on-call service, exceptional events)
- Absolute discretion (preservation of official secrecy)
- Careful and precise working method as well as quick comprehension
- Sense of responsibility (traces are unique!)
- Confidence in oral and written expression
- Strong team spirit and high commitment
- Good legal knowledge and understanding of legal processes
- Technical understanding and knowledge of photography advantageous
- Willingness for continuous further training
