About the job
Research Associate Projects Secondary Schools 80%ANALYTICAL, ORGANISATIONAL SKILLED AND SERVICE-ORIENTED
The Secondary and Vocational Education Office is the competence and service centre for vocational education, secondary schools, higher vocational education and further education in the Canton of Zurich. The Secondary Schools Department takes care of all matters concerning secondary schools.
For the projects "Further Development of Grammar Schools in the Canton of Zurich (WegZH)" and "Lower Grammar School Curricula" as well as for other tasks, we are looking for a research associate (80%) to start immediately or by arrangement. The position is limited until 30 September 2030.
Your area of responsibility
Are you interested in educational issues and do you quickly familiarise yourself with new topics? In this role, you support the project and sub-project management of the WegZH and UG Curricula projects in the substantive, organisational and coordinative project work.
You prepare meetings and events, accompany their implementation, create presentations and ensure results. In addition, you work on professional and conceptual topics and independently take on clearly defined work packages, for example in the evaluation of consultations, the development of educational policy decision-making bases or the development of materials for school implementation. You structure complex issues, prepare information in a target group-oriented manner and coordinate cooperation with schools, internal specialist departments and other project participants. You keep an eye on the next project steps and contribute to targeted implementation. In addition, you accompany the technical implementation of new requirements and coordinate the corresponding work with the responsible IT departments.
Your profile
You have a university master's degree and knowledge of the Swiss education system, especially secondary level II. Experience in public administration, the education sector or project management is an advantage.
You work conceptually and analytically, quickly grasp complex contexts and know how to prepare them in a structured way. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently and in a structured manner, and set priorities even with several parallel topics. You communicate in a target group-oriented manner, enjoy working in a team and are confident in dealing with different stakeholders. You combine professional care with a strong implementation orientation. A flair for technical issues complements your profile. You understand your work as a service for schools, the project team and the education directorate.
Our offer
You can expect a varied activity at the interface of education policy, administration and school development. You contribute to the further development of Zurich grammar schools, gain insight into education policy decision-making processes and have scope to bring in your own professional and organisational ideas. You work closely with the project and sub-project management as well as other specialists.
You work in a committed team at a centrally located workplace near Zurich main station. The employment conditions are based on cantonal guidelines and include, among other things, the possibility of home office.
