Specialist in Diabetes Counselling / Certified Nursing Professional

The University Clinic for Diabetology, Endocrinology, Nutritional Medicine and Metabolism (UDEM) cares for patients with complex metabolic diseases at the highest university level. To strengthen our interprofessional team, we are looking for a committed and motivated individual as a Diabetes Counsellor HFP/DAS/HöFa1

What to expect

• Consultation and training of outpatient and inpatient patients with diabetes mellitus (Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes)
• Support and instruction in insulin therapies as well as modern diabetes technologies (CGM, insulin pumps and automated insulin delivery systems)
• Promotion of self-management and health literacy of patients and relatives
• Conducting individual and group training sessions
• Interprofessional collaboration with doctors, nutritionists, nursing professionals and other specialist disciplines
• Documentation in the electronic patient record
• Participation in the further development of diabetes counselling

What you bring

• You have completed training as a certified nursing professional HF/FH
• Ideally, you already have further training in diabetes counselling. Alternatively, it is possible to complete the relevant training as part of the employment
• Experience in caring for people with diabetes, ideally in an acute hospital or outpatient setting
• Enjoyment of patient-centred, evidence-based counselling
• High social, communication and counselling skills
• Independent, structured and responsible way of working
• Interest in innovation, digitalisation and the further development of modern diabetes care
