Day service - 100% - 45 h/week
VetSpecialistes SA is a specialised veterinary clinic located in Le Grand-Saconnex, dedicated to the management of referred and complex cases, with an additional general medicine activity. The clinic brings together several specialised disciplines, an emergency/hospitalisation service, an advanced technical platform and a multidisciplinary medical team.
We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our day service, within the emergency, hospitalisation and intensive care department.
The position mainly consists of ensuring the medical follow-up of hospitalised patients during the day, in coordination with the night team, specialists and veterinary nurse assistants. The usual workload varies between 5 and 12 hospitalised patients, supported by a dedicated care team.
Main missions
- Participate in the morning clinical round with the night team.
- Take over hospitalised patients and cases admitted during the night.
- Perform clinical examinations of patients and adapt treatment plans.
- Prescribe and coordinate care with veterinary nurse assistants.
- Ensure follow-up of additional examinations and clinical progress of patients.
- Write medical notes and keep records up to date.
- Communicate regularly with owners about progress, prognosis and costs.
- Prepare estimates, consents and necessary documents.
- Organise end-of-day handovers for the night team.
- Support the emergency service in case of high activity.
Profile sought
- Recognised veterinary degree.
- Experience in emergencies, hospitalisation or intensive care.
- Internship desired or equivalent experience appreciated.
- Ability to manage complex or critical patients.
- Medical rigour, sense of priorities and good organisation.
- Good communication skills with owners and teams.
- Team spirit and ability to work in a specialised environment.
